A grammar checker without a subscription

Polish one document. Pay once.

Grammar, spelling and clarity for the thing you actually have to send — a cover letter, an application, an essay, an email you have already rewritten four times. Paste it, see a free sample of the edit on your own words, then polish the whole document for a single payment. No plan, no renewal, no account until you buy.

19 NOK once, about 9 full-length documents. The sample is free and needs no account.

What it does to your words

Grammar check, spelling, punctuation

The ordinary errors a spell-checker misses: tense that drifts, articles that are missing, prepositions that are nearly right. If English is your second language, this is the part that makes the document read as though it was written by someone fluent — still by you.

Sentences that follow

Long sentences untangled, an order that makes sense, repetition removed. Every idea you put in stays in. Nothing is added to fill a gap.

The register you need

Ask for formal and you get professional written English for an employer, a university or a client — formal, not stiff. Ask for shorter and it cuts words, never points.

The language you wrote in

Norwegian, German, Polish, Spanish, anything else: it polishes the document in the language it finds and never translates it into another one.

What it will not do

It will not write for you. It edits what is already on the page and is not allowed to add a fact, an achievement, an argument or a paragraph. A thin document comes back thin, and the summary says so. If you need something written, this is the wrong tool — deliberately.

It will not keep your document. On our side the text is held for the length of one request and then it is gone: nothing is saved, nothing is written to a log, nothing is used to train anything, and the only thing recorded is how many characters you sent. One copy does exist while you are working — in this browser tab, so your text survives the trip to the payment page and back. It never leaves your device, it is erased the moment your polished document arrives, and it is gone when you close the tab.

It will not follow you. No plan, no renewal date, no email sequence, no counter running down in the corner. Buy a document when you have one.

Why this is not a subscription

Writing assistants are priced for people who write all day. If you write occasionally — one application, one assignment, one letter to a landlord — a yearly plan costs a great deal for an afternoon of work, and it keeps charging long after the document is sent. This charges for the document in front of you and then stops. If you never come back, that is the correct outcome.

It is not free because it is not free to run: every polished document is a real call to a large language model, and that call costs us money. You are charged what it costs, which is why one payment covers far more than one document — not because we are generous, but because a card payment has a minimum and that minimum buys a lot of editing.

19 NOK — enough for about 9 full-length documents, or many more short ones.

Questions people ask first

Is this cheating?

That depends on what you are handing in and to whom, and it is your call rather than ours — but the tool is built to stay on the safe side of it. It corrects and rephrases what you wrote and is not permitted to add content. It cannot invent an argument, a source, an experience or a paragraph. If your institution allows a proofreader, this does the same job. If it forbids all editing help, this is still editing help.

Do I need an account?

Not for the sample. You need one to buy, because a document you paid for has to belong to someone who can come back and use it.

How long can the document be?

One purchase covers up to 20000 characters — roughly eight pages, which is longer than almost any cover letter, application or essay. A longer document can be split and bought in parts.

What if the result is no good?

If the editor fails outright, nothing is used up and you can try again. If the edit came back and you simply disagree with it, you still have your original — nothing here overwrites it — and you can write to hei@pixygon.io.

Can I use it for something other than English?

Yes. It polishes the document in whatever language it is written in and will not translate it. If translation is what you want, that is a different tool.

Is this a one-time payment?

Yes. One payment, no subscription, and nothing renews. It covers several full-length documents and more short ones, and what you do not use stays on your account for the next one.

Is this a Grammarly alternative?

For the occasional document, yes. Grammarly's paid Pro plan is a subscription; this charges once and stops. If you write all day, every day, a subscription may well suit you better, and Grammarly's free plan is still useful for quick spelling checks.

Can I check grammar free, without signing up?

The sample is free and needs no sign-up: paste your text and the first part comes back edited, with every change listed. Polishing the whole document needs an account and one payment.
